7 Reasons not to Get a Tattoo

1. You can get infected.

This is more common than you think especially in developing countries where the cost of obtaining quality tattooing materials is expensive.

Unsterilized tattooing equipment can transmit infectious diseases such as hepatitis and tuberculosis.

The risk of infections is the reason the American Association of Blood Banks requires a one year wait interval between getting a tattoo and donating blood.

2. Allergic reactions

According to medical scientist every normal human being is allergic to something except some folks don’t know what it is yet.

There have been reports of individuals suffering allergic reactions after the use of laser treatments to remove tattoos apparently because the laser caused substances in the tattoo ink to be  released into the body.

3. Having  a bath or shower is a nightmare.

If you are thinking of getting a tattoo you might as well know that fresh tattoos are water resistant.

In other words avoid coming in contact with water for a week after getting a tattoo and when you take a bath it will definitely sting and hurt badly.

So take care of the tattooed area properly the first week is mandatory.

4.Employment

Tattoos can reduce your chances of getting hired for a job or being accepted into the armed forces. Visible tattoos  would contradict the reputation for respectability and trustworthiness most companies strive for.

Tattoos also run the risk of offending your potential colleagues.

5. Fading and Distortion

Many tattoo advocates try to convince you that tattoos will be just as beautiful years from now but the reality is that tattoos fade and get distorted.

For people with serious medical conditions tattoos can present a very real risk to health and life.

People with heart conditions,epilepsy and allergies should not get tattoos. The list also includes those who have had organ transplants,anyone on blood thinners and those who are pregnant or nursing.

Sometimes the ink itself can lead to serious health complications by interfering with medications.
